Board of Fire Commissioners

McLane Black Lake Fire Department is governed by a five-member Board of Fire Commissioners. Each commissioner is elected by the public to serve a six-year, staggered term, ensuring continuity and long-term oversight. The Board provides legislative leadership and is responsible for setting department policy, establishing the fire levy rate, developing and adopting the annual budget, reviewing and approving contracts, and appointing and evaluating the Fire Chief.

The commissioners meet monthly to guide the strategic direction of the department, uphold fiscal responsibility, and ensure the services we provide align with the evolving needs of the fire district. Their leadership plays a vital role in maintaining the strength, transparency, and accountability of our district.
