Assistant Fire Chief position OPEN 

 McLane Black Lake Fire Department in Olympia, WA is seeking applications to fill our Assistant Fire Chief position.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in fire science, business, public administration or related field from an accredited college or university is required.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience in fire suppression.
• 5 years of fire service experience in a supervisory or officer position.
• Current Washington State or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician.
• Thurston County Medic One Protocol Certification (within 120 days of employment)
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record is a condition of initial and continued employment.

Volunteers - CLOSED

We will open in early 2027 for VolunteerFirefighter/EMT positions.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age at the time of initial training.
• High School Diploma or GED at the time of initial training.
• Valid Driver’s License (WA license required by first day of employment)

To advance to an interview, all candidates must complete the following:

• Application completed and signed
• Successfully pass a basic knowledge written test with an 80%
• Successfully pass CPAT physical agility test.
